Yes, that title was right...we are moving not only my small family, but also my mom and brother. We are preforming a water ballet of sorts because they are moving into our apartment(which we were renting from the university my mother attends and I attended) while we are moving closer to my paramedic husbands work. All this happens Thursday and Friday, right before Christmas. Call us nuts, because I think we are. I get to balance watching my 15 month old during all of this. I am not sure how we are going to pull this off, but after the last "big"move during the ice storm...I think we can handle it. Because of MedicMans schedule, and where we currently live. He is actually the only one who has seen were we are going to live, that's right I have NOT seen my very near future home. I guess it will kind of be like a Christmas gift(who votes he puts a big red ribbon on our door for me?). I probably wont be posting again until after the move, since I should be packing right now as I type.
quick tips for moving with a toddler:
1. arrange play dates/babysitters during hour periods of time, this allows packing without a "helper" unpacking or packing toys with plates
2. leave them a space to play
3.*if weather permits* let them play outside for a good hour so they will take a LONG nap, nothing says "happy packing" like a sleeping toddler!
4. NEVER...never, underestimate the cyclone ability of a toddler....if you clear out a room totally of stuff, be sure to check it right before you leave for good. *luckily my mom is moving into our place so if we(read Boobman) leaves something, it isn't a big deal.
